February 2009 - INVOcell
MediTech is very proud to announce that the INVOcell, a novel biological capsule used for oocyte fertilization and early stage embryo development in the woman's vaginal cavity, is now registered in Canada . The intra-vaginal culture procedure is an assited reproductive technology acknowledged by the American Society for Reproductive Medicine (1993). The INVOcell can be used with a natural or low stimulation infertiltiy treatment cycle, and is a lower cost treatment option for patients. The INVOcell procedure may also decrease the risk of multiple births and reduce the need for embryo cryopreservation and storage.
Currently, the INVOcell is being launched in Canada and several other countries in Europe and the Middle East . The manufacturer, INVO Bioscience, is also seeking U.S. Food and Drug Administration approval. Over 800 cycles have been performed in France , Germany , the Netherlands , England , the U.S. and Japan , using a prototype of the INVOcell. Clinical studies have included patients with various causes of infertility, including tubal factor, endometriosis, and unexplained infertility.
